FairfaxCAPS Offers Carpool Organization Resource to Support Pupil Placement

FairfaxCAPS has received input from the community that there is an extreme need for help with coordinating transportation for pupil-placed high school students.  As a community resource, FairfaxCAPS is setting up a format whereby parents of pupil-placed students can get in touch with other parents to form car pools.  This will serve a double purpose — helping your students get to and from school safely and on time, and helping you get to know the people in your community and the kids your child goes to school with.

FairfaxCAPS will compile all the information and subdivide it into local area groupings of parents interested in car-pooling to the same high school.  We will share each local area grouping list with the parents on that list.  FairfaxCAPS suggests that you meet with other interested parents on the list and develop a car-pooling plan and schedule.  We also suggest that your group establishes a password protected group such as on Yahoo or Blackboard.  It might also be possible to use http://zimride.com/home.php which integrates with Facebook.

To assist you in establishing your group, FairfaxCAPS is providing valuable car-pool tips and advice.  We will continue to update “Car-Pool Tips and Advice” as we gain new information.

Your interactions with other individuals in forming car pools are solely between you and such individuals, and FairfaxCAPS shall not be responsible or liable for any loss or damage of any sort incurred as the result of any such dealings.  If there is a dispute between participants in car pools, FairfaxCAPS is under no obligation to become involved in such dispute.
