Patty Reed Elected to Fairfax County School Board

Patty Reed’s election to the school board on Nov. 3 is a victory for all citizens and parents who are seeking greater accountability and transparency from our school board, and a better working relationship with the board.  It is extraordinary that a parent advocate won over a candidate backed by the entire political and education establishment of the county -- Ms. Reed’s vision for change clearly resonated with citizens of all party affiliations in this non-partisan race, and shows the deep frustration that the Fairfax County community has with the current school board.

FairfaxCAPS was impressed with Patty Reed’s experience as an advocate of parents, teachers, and taxpayers, and her willingness to work with her constituents in addressing the challenges that face Fairfax County’s education system.  We look forward to assisting her in whatever way we can.
